THE LIP BALM EDIT

I am quite a lip balm kind of gal, simply because of my dry lips situation.

Recently I have tried a few more and I wanted to share with you my thoughts on each of them.

When the Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Solid Oil Lip Balm came to the market, I was rather excited and was intrigued by the argan oil part, also it's been reinforced by Fleur de Force so that's put a 'confidence stamp' on this product, why wouldn't I try it?  The cheapest of all that came at £4, I wouldn't differentiate this from the good old vaseline.  The scent is a florally sweet flavour which is quite refreshing rather than an intense sweetness, but the product sits on the surface of the lips rather than 'penetrates' and gives the lips proper moisture.  The product isn't very lasting either so I'm needed to top it up quite often which can be a bit of a pain.  If you are looking for a purse friendly mediocre lip balm, this one works just fine but wouldn't transform any chapped lips situations.

Next up is by lanolips - Lemonaid Lip Aid with Lemon Oil (£9.18), a waste not want not product given by my sister @forksandbrushes.   She didn't quite get on with it so I wasn't expecting high when I tried it.  But, I loved it.  I think that the texture of it is just right, it doesn't just sit on the surface of my lips it offers a lip-mask effect.  I like to apply this quite thick on my lips just before I go to bed, in the morning when I wake up; I can definitely feel and see a difference on my lips.  It worked really well especially when I was experiencing extremely chapped lips whilst I was pregnant.

The Rose Salve (£8.5) by C.O. Bigelow is a cult beauty product which I have always wanted to try.  I got this from my Beauty Advent Calendar by Liberty London.  Its rose scent is delicious and very fresh.  However it does feel like putting on vaseline, although it works slightly better in the giving and locking moisturisation department.  I think that if you don't mind spending a little bit more on a 'high end' version of a vaseline then do give this a go.....

The final lip balm I wanted to talk about is probably the most expensive lip balm I have ever tried.  The Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm (£32), which I got also from the Beauty Advent Calendar by Liberty London.  It's got a very thick texture, definitely not for everyday use or use before applying colour lip products.  This is more for an overnight lip treatment use.  It does work quite well as when I wake up the next morning, it seems to have smoothened out some of the really dry bits on my lips.  It also gives the lips a minty/ cooling sensation which feels really nice on the lips.  Would I pay for £32 to repurchase?  I probably wouldn't as it really is a bit dear to buy such lip balm but perhaps if you know someone who loves a bit of a high end product who also has dry lips, this is perhaps the perfect gift!

What other lip balms have you tried?  Have you tried any of these before?

Blogmas Day 25: Merry Xmas!

Merry Xmas everybody!

I'm so excited to share with you my last beauty gift revealed from the Liberty London Beauty Advent Calendar!

It's a diptyque candle! Wow I have always wanted one but they are a bit pricey for me so this is a perfect ending to this blogmas!

Thank you everyone for your support to my blogmas this year!

Blogmas Day 24: Christmas Eve

Day 24 Beauty Advent Calendar

Only 1 more sleep away from Christmas! Time does fly by so quickly

On the 24th day of December, I woke up to learn that a molecule 01 by escentric molecule perfume was hidden in my Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar. I love this perfume, I'm not gonna lie but I already own one myself but I'm more than half way through it and have seriously thought about repurchasing. Now that I have a brand new one I won't need to!

I love this perfume because of its uniqueness of it adjusting to individual's body temperature to generate a scent. This makes the scent completely different to everyone's.

I'm so excited about this and cannot wait to open my Christmas Day's gift!

Blogmas Day 23

Day 23 Beauty Advent Calendar

I literally stopped breathing for a second when I saw this as I opened today's drawer.

I mean who wouldn't want something by Eve Lom? I've always, always wanted to use EL's facial cleanser again. I used this when I was in my early 20s but I found it a little too heavy for my skin at the time. Things have changed and my skin loves cleansing balm.  She's the queen of cleansing balm and now I blog about beauty, it's the perfect time to reconnect with it!

Today I'm one very happy girl!

Blogmas Day 22

Day 22 of Beauty Advent Calendar

A body lotion by Kai, is what I found in drawer number 22 today. I must say I'm not the most excited girl for what I saw as I'm not the biggest fan of receiving body lotion although I need it the most as my skin does get pretty dry during winter times. However, because it's chosen by Liberty to include in the beauty advent calendar, it might be one too good to miss!

Blogmas Day 21

Day 21 of Beauty Advent Calendar

Liberty seems to be able to hear my inner voice of what I want and lack of in my vanity cupboard. I need a serum for my face and I'm getting one today!

Dr Sebagh hyaluronic acid serum, sounds like a perfect combination for my skin, my skin is dry so it would definitely benefit from some hyaluronic acid for hydration.

Blogmas Day 20

Day 18 of Beauty Advent Calendar

Laura Mercier, the Queen of Makeup in my eyes; I kept meaning to try this lipgloss, I cannot believe my eyes when I opened drawer 20 just now! Liberty really is answering my little prayer one by one.

This lipgloss in bare baby looks like the perfect nudy pink (MLBB). It's great for busy ladies like myself whom sometimes just need to slap on some colors and gloss on the lips but can't afford to spend ages looking at the mirror to do a bit of lip drawing.

Literally, cannot wait to use this!

Blogmas Day 19

Day 19 Beauty Advent Calendar

Today's beauty item has been brought to by Sisley! Wow a 30-min pampering facial treatment is very welcome indeed! A real ultimately luxury experience to be had, especially the opportunity to use products by Sisley! I've heard a lot about their black rose cream mask, I wondered if I'll get a chance to try it out on the day!

Blogmas Day 18

Day 18 of Beauty Advent Calendar

Today's beauty item has been brought to you by Omorovicza, perfecting lip balm.

Wow I nearly screamed when I found this in the 18th drawer! I love this brand, not only because it is luxury it also works! I have never heard of the perfect lip balm by Omorovicza though. I couldn't wait any longer so I have already tested it! First impression was, the balm itself is very soft and creamy, it feels like a thick balm after applying on the lips. After a few seconds, there followed a minty sensation which gave the lips a feeling a refreshed. I think this would be ideal for the use of as a lip mask, leave on overnight.

Very excited about this!

Blogmas Day 17

Day 17 of Beauty Advent Calendar

Inside the 17th beauty drawers of my Advent Calendar I found this Dermalogica Precleanse. I absolutely love any stuff from this brand as they work on my skin.

This precleanse is an oil based product to remove makeup or impurities on skin. That's even better because I love an oil based product!

Blogmas Day 16

Day 16 of Beauty Advent Calendar

I love today's beauty item, I love an eyeliner pencil and even love it more if it's brown. This fits the bill!

Unfortunately I can't see the brand of this eyeliner but the packaging looks so so chic I'm simply in love with it even before using it, I know I shouldn't!

If you know what brand this eyeliner pencil is, please let me know!

Blogmas Day 15

Day 15 of Beauty Advent Calendar

Weleda is famous for its natural ingredients used in their skincare products. This Skin Food for dry and rough skin is very welcomed by me.

I'm sure other new moms would agree with me that whatever products they apply on their bodies have become related to their babies and children especially if they get transferred to their skins.

The size is perfect, too; I can keep this in the pouch of Baby Lear's buggy so I can reach to it quickly!

Can't wait to give this a go!

Sunday 14 December 2014

Blogmas Day 14

Day 14 Beauty Advent Calendar

I literally cannot believe my eyes when I revealed today's beauty advent calendar! Liberty really is answering my beauty wishes one by one

I've already tried this rose salve lip balm by C.O.Bigelow. It feels really nice on the lips. It also comes in the generous size of 22g of product. What more can I ask for?!

Blogmas Day 13

Beauty Advent Calendar Day 13

Malin + Goetz rum body wash? Wow yes any time! Receiving a miniature body wash as gift isn't always ideal for me to be honest but this brand and the scent? Hell yes!

I've always wanted to try something from this brand, plus it's a rum scent which makes it so special; also for mama like myself who isn't able to have a drink yet; an "alcoholic" body wash can probably bring things home!

Blogmas Day 12

Advent Calendar Day 12

On the 12th day before Christmas, Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar gave me this body milk by Decleor, how very luxurious is that!  I've tried many body moisturising products as I have dry and dehydrated skin. I can't wait to give this a proper try!

I don't know how many times I've said the word lux since opening my beauty advent calendar but every single beauty number has been something to die for.

Bring on tomorrow!

Blogmas Day 11

Who doesn't love a nail polish? This Deborah Lippmann nail polish in call me irresponsible, a light plummy purple is soooo beautiful.

I love a great nail polish and even more so I have a soft spot for a purple shade. This is a perfect beauty item!

Wednesday 10 December 2014

Blogmas Day 10

Day 10 of Beauty Advent Calendar is this generously sized ESPA optimal skin pro cleanser.

I've heard of this brand over 10 years ago from a school friend of mine who later became a beautician who told me to keep an eye on this brand back then.

This is perfect as I have never tried anything from this brand before. From reading the instructions it says this cleanser helps to exfoliate had moisturize whilst cleanses the face; it can also double up to remove makeup! I love love love a multipurpose product! Can't wait to give this a whirl!!

Tuesday 9 December 2014

Blogmas day 9

Day 9, Liberty brought me and fans of hourglass a miniature femme rouge velvet creme lipstick in grace. It's a MLBB shade which I love. I also love hourglass' products they rarely disappoint!

I love the size of the lipstick, too. As I'm all about downsizing these days!

A perfect start to blogmas day 9!

Monday 8 December 2014

Blogmas Day 8

REN Makeup Remover

Anything with the word "express" on attracts me a great deal! It means quick, fast and easy.

This makeup remover sounds like right up on street! I imagine it being a one stop shop of removing makeup nice and quickly!

8th day into opening my Beauty Advent Calendar continues to be more than perfect!

Sunday 7 December 2014

Blogmas Day 7

Wow the only thing I can say about opening the Beauty Advent calendar is that it doesn't get any better than this!

A Trish McEnvoy eye defined?! Are you kidding me?! This is seriously GREAT! Being a busy-sleep-deprived mom, I need a quick fix for the face to brighten my complexion. This is right up my street! It can be applied anywhere on the face before makeup to brighten the complexion and conceal any bits that you want to hide from the world.  A dream comes true primer for modern busy ladies!

Can't wait to share what comes tomorrow!
